How long do therapy sessions typically last?
Sessions are 45 minutes in length.
What happens during the first therapy session?
We’ll use the first 1-3 sessions to take a thorough history, talk about therapy logistics (like privacy and confidentiality), and set goals for our work together.
How often will I need to come to therapy?
Sessions are one to two times per week, depending on the level of support that you need. I do not offer sessions every other week. Therapy is a commitment that requires sustainable work to create long-term change. In my clinical experience, this is done best in a weekly format.
How long will I need to come to therapy?
Healing takes time. Length of treatment depends on several factors, including your goals for therapy, your life history, how much support you have outside of therapy, and how persistent or intensive your symptoms are. I cannot pinpoint how long we will work together. However, I can say that, in general, my clients have worked with me for several years. This does not mean that you will be in therapy with me for the rest of your life. I want to help you meet your goals, achieve stabilization and feel that you have the tools to go out into the world and try on what you’ve learned in therapy.
How much do sessions cost?
$200 for a 45-minute session.
Does my insurance cover sessions?
If you have out-of-network insurance coverage, you can be reimbursed based on your out-of-network benefits.
How do I seek reimbursement from my insurance company?
I am happy to help with out-of-network claims for your insurance. I will give you a specific form to send to your insurance company so that you can get reimbursed for out-of-network claims. Please call your insurance to determine if your benefits include out-of-network coverage.
Do you have evening and weekend appointments available?
I do not currently have availability on evenings and weekends.
Where do sessions take place?
I am currently offering virtual sessions for anyone in New York or New Jersey. I am offering in-person sessions at my outdoor office in Kingston, NY (near New Paltz, NY). I use HIPAA-compliant and encrypted software for video sessions to ensure your privacy and security during our sessions.
What services do you offer?
I offer trauma therapy, gender & sexuality therapy (including gender-affirming surgery letters), identity-affirming therapy, and outdoor therapy. I also run workshops and events and am happy to speak at your company or organization.
What is your cancellation policy?
Payment of the full session fee is required for sessions canceled without a full 24 hours notice. Scheduling changes can be made on occasion, permitting availability, and you can use the online client portal to request a rescheduled appointment. Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment should be made via telephone and email.
What if therapy isn't working?
Let’s talk about it! If you find that we are no longer a good fit, if your financial or life situation changes or if you relocate, or for any other reason you do not want to continue therapy with me, you are under no obligation to stay. You have freedom of choice no matter how short, or long we’ve been working together. I want the opportunity to discuss this with you before ending therapy together to understand what is not working for you and ensure quality care for everyone I work with. I will do my best to refer you to a colleague in any of these cases.
I’m ready to start therapy with you. What do I do next?
I know it can feel like a big step to call a therapist, but I’ll make it easy. We’ll spend 15-minutes on the phone, and I’ll let you know how or if I can help. If I am not the right person, I’ll do my best to get you to the right person.

How long do coaching sessions typically last?
Coaching sessions are 45 minutes in length.
What happens during the first coaching session?
We’ll use the first session to take a short history, talk about logistics (like privacy and confidentiality), and set goals for our work together.
What is the difference between therapy and coaching?
Coaching focuses primarily on the present and future, while therapy includes a much deeper excavation of past wounds and hurts. Coaching can allow you to make rapid changes to present pain, and is very action-oriented. Coaching clients often get the most out of coaching by being invested in and ready to take action toward creating change. Coaching is not a replacement for therapy.
How often will I need coaching?
Coaching sessions are typically one to two times per week, depending on the level of support that you need.
How long will I need coaching?
Coaching can include long-term support, but is typically focused on creating the movement you need in your life on a shorter-term basis. I want to help you meet your goals, achieve forward movement, and feel that you have the tools to go out into the world and try on what you’ve learned.
How much do coaching sessions cost?
$200 for a 45-minute session.

I firmly believe that gatekeeping gender-affirming care is unnecessary. I wish that anyone who needed care was simply able to receive it. However, we live in a society where psychiatric and medical approval is required for most gender-affirming care. I am more than happy to provide these letters to anyone in need.
What is the process for receiving gender-affirming care letters?
We will meet for 1 to 2 sessions so that I can gain a thorough history, primarily focused on your gender journey. I’ll ask a series of questions to determine if there are any potential issues in receiving care. After that, and following a template that has been successful with every client I’ve worked with thus far, I will write a letter that meets the WPATH standards of care.
Have other clients had success with these letters?
Yes! I’ve successfully helped clients receive the gender-affirming care necessary to mitigate, ameliorate, or completely remove their gender dysphoria.
How much does it cost for the sessions and letter?
Each session is $200 per 45-minute diagnostic assessment. The cost of the gender-affirming care letter is included with that fee.
I’m ready to get a gender-affirming care letter from you. What do I do next?
I know it can feel like a big step to call a therapist, but I’ll make it easy. We’ll spend 15-minutes on the phone, and I’ll let you know how or if I can help. If I am not the right person, I’ll do my best to get you to the right person.
Do you offer this service to everyone?
Due to the limits of my license, I am only able to offer this service to clients located in New York.
